Insurance Companies are Very Careful When It Comes to People With Previous Illnesses and Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

December 24th, 2009 . by admin

I had cancer last year. When I called my insurance company this year to extend my disability, they practically laughed over the phone. I wasn’t sure what would happen when I called, but I guess I didn’t expect to just hear a “No” right away. They explained that I had Pre-Existing Medical Conditions and that they could not cover me if I developed cancer again. My doctors had told me that I was healthy and everything looked good. I would have thought that it would have been okay to up my disability insurance. The explanation from them was that since I had cancer last year that I would be a high risk for other illnesses as well.
