Has anyone ever purchased land for speculative investment? My husband would like to do this, but I am very nervous that we could lose a ton of money buying property like this. We have no way of knowing if or when that property would be ripe for developing and I don’t want to tie our money up that way. What if we need it for something else? If we had plenty to go around, I wouldn’t mind as much, but this would take our life savings. There are just too many things that could go wrong. I want to know if others have had the same reservations and how they came to a compromise.
