It is tradition for the man to buy the wedding garter. So when I started looking for my future wife’s garter I made sure it represented me. After all her bouquet she tosses isn’t designed by me with flowers and colors I like. This is one of the only things I get to pick out all by myself, so I decided to have fun with it. I started with color. I wanted something brown, because that was my favorite color. Then I addressed the issue of lace. Most weddings garter are lacy and frilly. I wanted this thing plain and simple. The end result was a solid brown color with camouflage trim and a basketball in the middle. Let’s just say that at my next wedding I let my fiance pick out the garter.
