A Contemporary Redefinition of Terra Cotta

January 31st, 2009 . by admin

When you think of outdoor planting, you probably envision lots of terra cotta clay pots in that distinctive orange color. Well, one name has redefined terra cotta for contemporary times, and that’s Terracino. This Italian company doesn’t just make round, orange terra cotta planters in cookie cutter-like fashion. They combine all the practical, environmental benefits of terra cotta with artful handcrafting. For instance, one particularly fine example of their work is their High Ice Rock Planter, which is octagonal around the bottom, widening into a square opening at the top, in black. It looks elegant while protecting your plant from frost or UV rays and providing it with ample moisture and mineral distribution.
