American Gold eagle coins are extremely popular among gold bullion investors in the US. Over 12 million coins in the 1 oz denomination, have been minted since its inception in ’86.
Looking at some of the mintage figures in ’09 we see that the United States Mint has minted close to one and a half million of these guys. There was a huge demand for these coins nearing the end of 2008 and it stands to reason that when people lose faith in the mighty dollar, they turn to a more steadfast, tried and true form of money – Gold.
I look back just a few years ago with regret having neglected to invest more in gold and silver. Hind sight is always 20/20. So take this blog entry as a wake up call. If you care about your financial security and that of your family, invest in gold and start today.

Gold will never lose its value, because all countries back up their currencies with gold. The global economy would need to collapse in order for gold to be worth nothing. If you want to invest money, gold would be your best choice because it is so stable. For a long term investment, purchase gold bar, also called ingots. For a short term investment or if you think that you’ll need to sell some later, buy American Gold Eagles or Krugerrands. There are foreign gold coins, like the British Sovereigns that hold the value really well. Gold bars are a not as easy to sell because of their size. Plus, coins have a numismatic value and will likely be purchased by collectors.
