A superintendent is responsible for successful and efficient operations of energy conservation and energy generation units in the organization; ensuring that the resources are optimally utilized; ensuring that appropriate levels of energy are generated in various operating cycles; participating in resources allocation to various work groups; promoting and implementing energy conservation drives; providing training and development opportunities; participating in formulation of policies and best practices in the area of energy management; giving inputs in preparation of machinery and equipment usage manuals; coordinating efforts with other superintendents and performing other responsibilities as required. An energy superintendent typically reports to an energy director. An energy superintendent should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A master’s degree may also be required. Excellent academic credentials are essential. Several years of experience in energy management is essential. Strong ability to motivate and inspire others is essential.
