How to Punish a House Representative
August 8th, 2010 . by adminI liked the post by Lee Greif on his blog explaining what would happen in a reprimand against New York Representative Charlie Rangel, should it take place. I was unaware how problems with ethics were handled in the House of Representatives. The article enlightened me on the three formal types of punishment used in the House: reprimand, censure, and expulsion. I learned the levels of punishment and how often they were used. Examples were even given to illustrate. Although the article was brief, it was concise and taught me a little bit about our government that I’m glad that I know now!
